Germany Launches a Digital Democracy Lab

Greetings RadicalxChanger,

We are pleased as punch to share that SPRIN-D, Germany’s Federal Agency for Disruptive Innovation, has officially launched its new Digital Democracy Lab.

Led by Zarah Bruhn, who shared her vision at our virtual event last November, the lab aims to tackle the crisis of trust in modern democracies by building new bridges between the state, civil society, and innovators. Jeannette Gusko (formerly of Change.org) is serving as the lab’s Head of Digital Participation, and long-time RxC community member Leon Erichsen has joined as Technical Lead.

The lab is deeply inspired of course by the work of Audrey Tang, who joined Zarah for the recent launch event to discuss how Taiwan’s success can be adapted for Europe.

For RadicalxChange, this collaboration is a critical step in bringing our frameworks for democratic innovation into national-scale practice. We are excited to support Germany in designing the infrastructure needed for a more responsive and democratic future. We look forward to sharing more as this ambitious work evolves.
